A cozy, chocolate-studded banana bread made in just one bowl—no mess, no fuss, all flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 very ripe bananas
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup melted butter or neutral oil
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet, milk, or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl until soft and mostly smooth.
  3. Add eggs, melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix just until combined—do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Add extra chips if desired.
  7. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Wrap the loaf while slightly warm to lock in moisture. Add-ins like nuts, cinnamon, or coconut can be stirred in for extra flavor. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days, or refrigerate up to 1 week.
