A moist, cozy banana bread with a sweet cinnamon sugar swirl that delivers warmth, comfort, and bold flavor in every bite—perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a midday treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar (for swirl)
  • 1½ tablespoons ground cinnamon (for swirl)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper or grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add eggs, brown sugar, melted butter or oil, and vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
  7. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan.
  8. Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar over the batter.
  9. Top with remaining batter and then the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
  10. Use a butter knife to swirl the top in a figure-eight motion.
  11. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  12. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use very ripe, speckled bananas for best moisture and flavor. Don’t overmix the batter. Gently swirl the cinnamon layer for beautiful marbling.
