This rich, moist chocolate banana peanut butter bread is the ultimate comfort bake, blending three perfect flavors into one heavenly loaf.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 overripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper or grease it well.
  2. In a large bowl, mash bananas until smooth. Stir in peanut butter, melted butter, oil, and brown sugar until combined.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder (if using), baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir dry ingredients into the wet mixture just until combined—do not overmix.
  6. Fold in Greek yogurt or sour cream followed by chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan. Swirl an extra tablespoon of peanut butter on top if desired.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use deeply speckled, overripe bananas for best flavor and moisture. Don’t overmix the batter to keep the loaf soft and tender.
