This Banana Pudding Cake is the ultimate blend of creamy banana pudding and rich, moist cake. Layered with ripe bananas, fluffy whipped topping, and vanilla wafers, it’s a nostalgic, crowd-pleasing dessert that’s easy enough for any home baker.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 small box (3.4 oz) instant banana or vanilla pudding mix
  • 23 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • Whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade)
  • Fresh banana slices
  • Vanilla wafers, whole or crushed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch pan or two 9-inch round pans.
  2. Mash bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, oil, milk (or water), and mashed bananas. Mix on medium speed for 2–3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan(s) and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes (9×13) or 25–30 minutes (round pans), until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Let cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  7. Top cooled cake with pudding, banana slices, and whipped topping. Add crushed or whole vanilla wafers as garnish.
  8. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving for best texture and flavor.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for deeper flavor. Chill before serving. For added flair, garnish with crushed vanilla wafers, fresh banana slices, or a drizzle of caramel.
