These banana bread brownies are rich, fudgy, and perfectly sweet — blending the moist goodness of banana bread with the decadence of brownies. A simple, comforting dessert that’s always a hit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

For extra fudgy brownies, use slightly more banana and be careful not to overbake. Store tightly covered at room temp for 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
